Children and Teens Deserve Specialized Care
I understand that children and teens have their own unique inner worlds—and their own ways of experiencing and expressing challenges. My approach to therapy is centered on meeting young people where they are, creating a space where they feel safe, understood, and supported.
I created ReWoven to be a space for children and teens to explore the different parts of themselves with curiosity and compassion through the use of Internal Family Systems (IFS). Through this process, they can build emotional awareness, resilience, and a stronger sense of confidence in who they are. When appropriate, I also incorporate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to gently support the processing of distressing experiences. Using bilateral stimulation—such as eye movements or tapping—EMDR helps the brain reprocess stuck memories, which can reduce anxiety, improve emotional regulation, and help young people feel safer and more grounded in their daily lives.
Whether a child or teen is navigating anxiety, trauma, big emotions, or relationship challenges, IFS and EMDR offer a supportive and effective path toward healing and growth. Every young person deserves care that honors who they are, and I’m here to support them in that process.

Additional Therapeutic Modalities Used with Children

"TF-CBT is a structured, short-term treatment model that effectively improves a range of trauma-related outcomes in 8-25 sessions with the child/adolescent and caregiver. Although TF-CBT is highly effective at improving youth posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms and diagnosis, a PTSD diagnosis is not required in order to receive this treatment. TF-CBT also effectively addresses many other trauma impacts, including affective (e.g., depressive, anxiety), cognitive and behavioral problems, as well as improving the participating parent’s or caregiver’s personal distress about the child’s traumatic experience, effective parenting skills, and supportive interactions with the child."

Play is the language of children. Play therapy is therefore the most logical way for a therapist to come to the child’s level and speak in his or her own language.
In this therapy, your child is encouraged to explore their feelings, to understand and accept them and furthermore to process them using their imagination and creativity.

Creating art, viewing it, and talking about it provides a way for children (and adults!) to cope with emotional conflicts and increase self-awareness. It also lets them express unspoken and often unconscious concerns about their illness. Our therapists are trained to help clients create their visual representation of their challenges to help them understanding their behavior and work to resolve conflicts.
